How to Get Rid of Termites

There are many DIY solutions for removing termites from your home. The first one involves setting up a cardboard trap in your basement. The cardboard contains cellulose that attracts termites. Once they’re trapped in the cardboard, they will be unable to escape and may die. To dispose of the trap, you can burn it outdoors. While this method may not be effective for all cases, it is still a great way to get rid of termites. A second DIY solution is to mix diatomaceous earth, a naturally occurring rock, with a water-based insecticide. This will dry the termites and kill the nesting area.

Another method is to use direct chemicals inside your home. Termidor Foam is an excellent example of a direct chemical. When sprayed on the affected area, the Termidor Foam expands and draws the termites into the foam. The liquid then evaporates, leaving behind a poisonous residue. This method works for about a month. However, it is important to note that this solution is not always effective.

Propylene glycol is an effective solution for killing termites. Termites live in colonies that have a queen, who lays up to 1,000 eggs per day. You can purchase a specialized termite control product to eliminate the entire colony. The best way to eliminate termites is to treat the colony. A good solution is a multi-pronged approach that involves various types of products applied in specific ways.
